Good Mythical Morning

Good Mythical Morning (often abbreviated as GMM, officially named Good Mythical Morning With Rhett & Link) is a daytime talk show hosted by Rhett and Link and broadcast on the popular video-sharing website YouTube. Boasting over 18,400,000 subscribers and 2,400 episodes, its main focus is on the somewhat peculiar lives of the hosts, as well as episodes that talk about the making of their main channel videos. Good Mythical Morning episodes are released at 6:00 AM ET (3:00 AM PT) on YouTube. The sponsors' pay helps make their videos and keep an income.

Premise[]

With over 2,000 episodes, Rhett and Link continue to tell funny and thoughtful stories. Usually, there is no consistent theme for the episodes, but there are some reoccurring episode formats.

Seasons[]

Season 1[]

On January 9, 2012, Rhett and Link launched Good Mythical Morning with an episode called "Extremely OCD Morning Routine". On January 18, 2012, there was no episode of GMM released due to Rhett and Link protesting the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), instead, releasing a short video called "Good Mythical Blackout". This is the only time in the series where an episode of GMM was skipped during a season. On June 29, 2012, Rhett and Link ended Season One of Good Mythical Morning after 129 episodes. The season finale was a clip-show style episode Best of GMM Season One.

Season 2[]

Joyfully, fans returned to Good Mythical Morning on August 6, 2012, to be greeted by a new animated intro, theme, and fun stories from Rhett and Link.

In addition to the new theme and opening, the format was given minor tweaks for Season Two, such as a makeover for the Wheel of Mythicality, the wheel that tells Rhett and Link how to end the show. The Wheel now bears three colored show endings, one blue, one red, and one black. Rhett and Link don't know about these three endings beforehand, leading to some level of mystery about what will happen. The blue and red colors represent positive endings, while black represents something negative.

Season Two also featured many new segments. Thursdays became the day for reading mail and social media posts, most of the former would eventually end up in their Mythical Time Capsule. Also scheduled for Thursday was a two to three-minute puppet show starring high-quality, fan-built puppet incarnations of the two, known as the "Time Rangerers." A week of episodes also occurred in which Link was absent due to a family gathering, and to compensate, Rhett brought on guest hosts, namely SourceFed's Joe Bereta, Rhett's children, and the infamous taxidermist Chuck Testa.

The season ended on November 30, 2012, with a compilation episode of the season's greatest moments.

Season 3[]

Season Three of Good Mythical Morning premiered on January 14, 2013. Season Three, the shortest of the three seasons, running for just 62 episodes, ended on April 5, 2013.

The format for the episodes stayed almost the same, with a few minor tweaks. Two new spots were added to the Wheel of Mythicality, "Link's Choice" and the black and blue spots remained with the same function as before.

In addition, mid-season, Rhett and Link moved to a new studio and new GMM set. Season three also premiered the Mythical Mail Boulder, which they grew from a small rock by gluing small items sent to their P.O. Box by fans. Thursdays on the show also became dedicated to mail, bringing back former rhettandlink2 segment "Friday Means Mail," of course, with the day changed, and posts from Facebook, Twitter, etc. in a way similar to Season Two's Mythical Perspective day.

The season ended after twelve weeks, on April 5, 2013, following the announcement of an upcoming project, The Mythical Show, which would also be released on their second channel. Despite the project filling the time slot, Rhett and Link announced the twelve-minute talk show. Furthermore, the final episode became the first finale not to be a clip show-style episode and featured an episode called "Good Mythical Morning Trivia Game," in which Rhett and Link both answered trivia questions.

Following the season two finale, Rhett and Link returned to the "Good Mythical Morning" set for a half-hour Christmas special, which they called The Mythical Christmas Special. The special included most "Good Mythical Morning" segments, bringing back the Speech Jammer, among other things, and inspired Rhett and Link's The Mythical Show with its long-form variety show format.

Season 4[]

The fourth season of Good Mythical Morning began on September 3, 2013 and ended on December 20, 2013, running for 79 episodes. For this season, the episodes were slightly shortened and "Good Mythical More" was introduced, an additional 4-6 minutes of unedited content after the episode (current Good Mythical More episodes are on average 9-11 minutes). The season 4 Good Mythical More episodes were linked to the RhettandLinKommunity with unlisted videos on YouTube. In addition, this season used a new set and the Mega Wheel of Mythicality from the Mythical Show.

Season 5[]

The fifth season of Good Mythical Morning began on January 8, 2014 and ended on July 4, 2014, running for 128 episodes. Beginning this season, the Good Mythical More episodes are now available to watch on the Good Mythical MORE YouTube channel. On May 5, the first-ever "Will It" episode was released, "Will It Taco?", a popular series of taste tests to determine if something "will".

Season 6[]

The sixth season of Good Mythical Morning began on July 14, 2014 and ended on December 19, 2014, running for 115 episodes.

This season brought in its third intro sequence created by Los Angeles-based stop-motion production company, Digital Twigs. It was accompanied by a new theme tune that was composed by Pomplamoose.

During this season, the show began to have many more famous special guests, such as Daniel Radcliffe and PewDiePie. The Mythical Mail Boulder was replaced with the Mythical Lazy Susan, named by a fan under the username of joshjooh.

Season 7[]

The seventh season of Good Mythical Morning began on January 14, 2015, and ended on July 17, 2015, running for 135 episodes and making it the longest season to date.

For this season, the company moved to a new studio and the GMM set was new (though it looked similar to the previous set). The Wheel of Mythicality was upgraded and assorted spots called GMMWinFace were added, where fans had the opportunity to win prizes. Mid-season, GMMWinFace spots increased from 3 to alternating 12 spots for more opportunities of winning a wider array of prizes like selfies, merch, prop, etc.

This season also saw the launch of a new channel titled Buenos Y Míticos Días, which is dedicated to select episodes of the show that are translated into the Spanish language. Aside from some videos from Season 7, there were select videos from past seasons that are also dubbed into Spanish, which they showcase the best episodes of the show. This channel began uploading on May 18, 2015 and ended on July 30, 2015, after which it went into a hiatus until its return six years later.

Season 8[]

Season 8 of GMM began on August 10, 2015. The GMMWinFace spots decreased from 12 to 4. This season also includes segments and skits which uses outsides of the studio.

Season 9[]

The ninth season of Good Mythical Morning began on January 11, 2016.

The show received its fourth intro sequence, once again created by Digital Twigs, where it has been upgraded to a more realistic animated version in which the show's mascot - the Cocatrice - is flying through the air to its nest with an electric, upbeat song playing - a remix of the original that was produced once again by Pomplamoose, who also composed the new outro music.

At the beginning of this season, Link formally revealed his new hair cut for the first time to the viewers. A new segment was added called "Songs for When" in which Rhett and Link create and sing songs related to a question someone submitted for advice to be given about.

On Rhett & Link's fourth channel, EXTRAS - RhettandLink, they have also started releasing a new series called "Good Mythical Crew," which details the lengths at which the crew goes to set things up for the show.

Season 10[]

After a near 1 1/2 month break, the tenth season of GMM began on August 1, 2016 and ended on December 23, 2016. The 1000th episode of the show was uploaded within this season on October 13, 2016.

Season 11[]

The eleventh season of Good Mythical Morning began on January 16, 2017 and ended on July 7, 2017.

A new Wheel of Mythicality was produced and featured some new challenges as well as some that were continued from the Wheel of Gifticality from Season 10. During this season the This Is Mythical channel was launched.

Towards the end of the season, Good Mythical Summer was launched. Episodes went down to three per week rather than five, with the Friday episode being hosted by guests. This was so Rhett and Link could focus on making Buddy System Season 2.

Season 12[]

The twelfth season of Good Mythical Morning began on August 21, 2017 and ended on December 22, 2017. The show received a new GMM logo and its fifth intro sequence, once again created by Digital Twigs, which broke the tradition of the realistic ones used in the past seasons. Accompanying the new intro is an updated version of the theme tune composed by Jeff Zeigler and Sarah Schimeneck, who both also composed the outro music.

New Spots in the Wheel of Mythicality such as "New Tongue Twisters," "QTMBA: A Question That Must Be Answered," and "Check your Voicemail" were added. On November 6, 2017, the show received a reformat, co-produced with YouTube, where four GMM videos (plus GMMore) are now being uploaded every day, and they also used the new expanded set. They now include the "YouTube Originals" tag in their videos.

Season 13[]

The thirteenth season of Good Mythical Morning began on January 8, 2018, and ended on May 4, 2018. The episodes are split into three segments instead of four, and the thumbnails have a "traffic light" system, with the border of the thumbnail being green for the first segment, yellow for the second, and red for the third.

Season 14[]

The fourteenth season of Good Mythical Morning began on August 20, 2018 and ended on December 21, 2018. The season trailer was uploaded a week prior to its premiere.

The show in this season received another reformat that reverted back to having one GMM episode being uploaded per day (plus GMMore), something that was done on Season 11 and prior, and its recent GMS 2018 series. It also received an updated logo and banner replacing the orange background with yellow.

It also received a spin-off show named Let's Talk About That, which was uploaded every Saturday and was hosted by the main show's executive producer, Stevie Wynne Levine. The show began on August 25, 2018 and ended on December 21, 2019.

When episode 1449 of GMM aired on December 21, 2018, they announced that they have special episodes that will be highlights of the year from GMM and GMSummer to organize the Top 5 of that year after the release of all videos. which in 2018-2020 was posted Monday to Friday after GMM ended the following week.

Season 15[]

The fifteenth season began on January 7, 2019 and ended on May 17, 2019. It brought in the show's sixth intro sequence created by Dana Schechter, accompanied by a new version of the theme music composed by Mark Byers, who also composed the new outro music. The channel logo was updated for this season. A new wheel of Mythicality spot was "New Selfie face."

Season 16[]

The sixteenth season began on August 26, 2019 and ended on December 20, 2019. The food shows moved to every alternative Sunday as Food Fears and Another Food Shows (in Mythical Kitchen) hosted by crew member Josh.

Season 17[]

The seventeenth season began on January 13, 2020, alongside the launch of Mythical Kitchen, the new home for the food shows that are hosted by crew members Josh Scherer, Nicole Enayati, and Trevor Evarts.

This season was best known for the split-screen episodes due to the stay-at-home orders in California (where the Mythical offices are located) caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to its pre-recorded studio episodes. From March 30 to June 5, episodes went down from five a week to three (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). The split-screen quarantine episodes added a new element into the show, named the Coin of Mythicality, where either Rhett or Link flips a coin to determine who will perform a certain task. This replaced the popular ending segment, the Wheel of Mythicality.

Season 18[]

The eighteenth season began on September 14, 2020 and ended on December 18, 2020 with 70 episodes, making it the second shortest running regular season, only behind the third season.

The show received its seventh intro sequence, created by Matthew Dwyer and Mike Pasley of Digital Twigs, where the Cockatrice was brought back into the show's title-card since Season 11. Accompanying the new intro is an updated version of the theme music composed once again by Mark Byers, who also composed the outro music. The logo was updated once again in this season.

As a way to broaden their audience and to have new viewers, the famous "Let's Talk About That" teaser in the intro was dropped and replaced by a clip from the episode, although this was brought back mid-season, on November 2, 2020, after they realized that it did not worked the way they intended.

A new spot on the Wheel of Mythicality was added called "Drawer Destroyer".

Season 19[]

The nineteenth season began on January 11, 2021 and ended on July 2, 2021 when they announced a one-week break before returning with Good Mythical Summer. There is a new spot on the Wheel of Mythicality which is "Daddy Like Daddy Don't Like".

When episode 1939 of GMM aired on April 2, 2021, they announced that they would be take a spring break from the program for 2 weeks and returned on April 19, 2021.

Season 20[]

The twentieth season began on September 13, 2021 with the Week of Mega-cality, and ended on December 17, 2021. There is a new spot on the Wheel of Mythicality called "Ready, Pet, Go!" where they are shown a mythical beast's pet and guess their name.

When episode 2088 of GMM aired on December 17, 2021, they announced that special episodes are highlights of the year that release extended to 2 weeks, but the days will be reduced to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. which released only in 2021

Season 21[]

The twenty-first season began on January 10, 2022, and ended on July 1, 2022. The show received its eighth intro sequence that paid homage to their previous intro sequences, most notably the classic GMM intro from its inaugural season, to celebrate 10 years of the show. The theme music was remixed once again by Pomplamoose for the first time since Season 11, but Mark Byers once again composed the outro music.

The season began with the special 10th anniversary week where they looked back at some of the best moments that they made on the show. The Wheel of Mythicality intros were made by, in order of appearance, Jason Segel, D'Arcy Carden, Jack Black and Mayim Bialik, celebrities that are fans of the show and/or appeared in the show previously. The final intro was made by the Mythical Crew.

The show began to have special guests for the first time since Season 17, with famous skateboarder Tony Hawk appearing on the January 18, 2022 episode.

When episode 2143 of GMM aired on March 25, 2022, they announced that they are took on a spring break once again. From March 28 to April 15, episodes went down from five a week to three (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) unlike Season 19.

Season 22[]

The twenty-second season began on September 12, 2022 and ended on December 16, 2022.

On December 16, 2022, they announced that in every last 2 weeks of December, GMM releases special episodes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday that Highlights of the year are still released with the new adjustment is that Rhett & Link and Mythical crew choose 3 episodes will be selected according to each category of the best episode throughout that year. And another week is the final week of December and before/after entering New Year's eve will be Good Mythical Marathon, a compilation of the best selected episodes to watch as a marathon. Including GMMarathon will be released starting every Wednesday only after the end in 1 week of GMM season in July and after the end of GMSummer of break before starting the new season. which GMMarathon starts releasing on December 26, 2022

Season 23[]

The twenty-third season began on January 9, 2023 and ended on June 30, 2023

On March 29, 2023, GMM's spin-off show Let's Talk About That (LTAT) returned with a special episode featured in Mythical Society.

When episode 2332 of GMM (Will It Toast? Taste Test) aired on February 20, 2023, Introducing a third mouth button for Rhett & Link to call any of the Mythical Crew members to judge Will It, including the Will It Tournament, where crew members come up with ideas for Will It episodes to win a jacket and choice snack for a year in the office. By Will It Tournament ended in episode 2305 (Will It Waffle? Taste Test) aired on December 4, 2023

When episode 2361 of GMM aired on March 31, 2023, they announced that they are took on a spring break, but the show was reduced from five a week to three (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) that aired on April 3-21.

Season 24[]

The twenty fourth season began on September 11, 2023 and ended on December 15, 2023. The show received its nineth intro sequence, created by Fantoons. Accompanying the new intro is an updated version of the theme music composed by Rhett & Link themselves, who both also composed the outro music.

When episode 2448 of GMM aired on September 14, 2023, Smosh made a guest appearance on the episode after on June 20, 2023, when Anthony Padilla returned to Smosh and Padilla along with Ian Hecox, bought Smosh from Mythical Entertainment and then continued working on Smosh in under Padilla's company, Pressalike Productions.

The 2500th episode of Good Mythical Morning was uploaded during this season on November 27, 2023.

Season 25[]

The twenty-fifth season began on January 8, 2024.

On February 20, 2024, Good Mythical Morning is about to release a special episode that goes back to the earliest form of GMM, giving fans the desire for nostalgia that released on Mythical Society (in special episode: We Made Our Own Mystery Box)

On March 25, 2024, Mythical Society was released 2nd special episode of LTAT

When episode 2574 of GMM aired on March 29, 2024, they announced that they are took on a spring break, but show still releases on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but Saturday is Good Mythical Weekend that runs throughout spring break.

Good Mythical Summer[]

Good Mythical Summer refers to the series of Good Mythical Morning episodes uploaded during the summer season in the United States. Currently, episodes are uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from July to September (previously late May or early June to late July or early August before GMS 2020). The format of the episodes changed over the years; it used to have guest hosts in Friday episodes from 2017 to 2019, and in 2020, episodes were released from Monday to Friday as a result of the change in the format of the preceding regular season.

Good Mythical Summer 2017[]

Episodes under the "Good Mythical Summer" banner were released as part of Season 11 from May 15, 2017, until the season finale on July 7, 2017. Guest hosts were featured every Friday so that Rhett and Link could focus on filming the second season of Buddy System, which included:

Good Mythical Summer 2018[]

This special season began on May 28, 2018, and ended on July 27, 2018. It is the first Good Mythical Summer to not be part of any regular season. The original, one-video format of the show returned with this season, although Rhett and Link did not officially announce it until Season 14 began in August of that year. Guests hosts were also featured every Friday, keeping with last year's tradition, to allow Rhett and Link to focus on their upcoming shows as part of the Tour of Mythicality. They included:

Good Mythical Summer 2019[]

This special season began on June 3, 2019, and ended on August 9, 2019, with episodes uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Mythical Crew Members (including Courtney Miller and Shayne Topp, both from Smosh, and Steve Zaragoza of The Valleyfolk) hosted the Friday episodes. Aside from GMM episodes, new content on Mythical Society was added every Thursday, and episodes on a new spin-off show temporarily replacing LTAT, Food Fears, hosted by crew member Josh Scherer, were uploaded every Saturday. On July 13, 2019, Food Fears was replaced by Future Fast Food, also hosted by Josh.

Good Mythical Summer 2020[]

This special season began on July 27, 2020, and ended on September 4, 2020. As a result of the change in the format of Season 17 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, episodes were uploaded in the same schedule as the regular seasons and were hosted by Rhett and Link only. The season featured three episodes that were written by the winners of the Mythical Beast Takeover contest.

Good Mythical Summer 2021[]

This special season began on July 12, 2021, and ended on September 3, 2021, with episodes uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Like the previous year, these episodes had been hosted by Rhett and Link only. The 2000th episode of Good Mythical Morning was uploaded during this season on July 23, 2021.

Good Mythical Summer 2022[]

This special season began on July 11, 2022 and ended on September 2, 2022, with episodes uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Episodes within this special season continued to be hosted by Rhett and Link only, except for one episode ("Stove vs. Microwave Taste Test"), where Stevie co-hosted with Rhett.

Good Mythical Summer 2023[]

This special season began on July 10, 2023, and ended on September 1, 2023, with episodes uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Episodes within this special season continued to be hosted by Rhett and Link only. A special program that comes every Saturday like Good Mythical Weekend by Mythical Crew where they come to play fun games was also introduced.

2020[]

Within Season 18 is the show's first annual all-day livestream that was held on November 19, 2020, that was broadcast on the channel from 9AM to 5PM Pacific Standard Time. It featured some of the show's segments as well as special guests such as Jen Matichuk, Shepherd McLaughlin, Lando Neal and many others. A fundraiser for Los Angeles-based organization, Inner-City Arts, was also done concurrently with the livestream. A limited-edition "Be Your Mythical Best" shirt was made available on the Mythical Store during the livestream, with proceeds also went to the aforementioned organization. The event was the result of the promise of the hosts on the aftermath of the Vote Like A Beast campaign for the 2020 United States elections, where 23,000 new voters were registered using the campaign (the target was 18,000).

2021[]

The show's second annual livestream was held on September 2, 2021, that was also broadcast on the channel from 9AM to 5PM PST. It again featured some popular and returning segments from the show as well as special guests such as Jen Matichuk, Jessie McLaughlin, Christy Neal, the Mythical Chefs, Jordan Morris and Emily Fleming. Like the previous year, a fundraiser was also done concurrently with the livestream; this time, it benefitted Save the Children. Also, another limited-edition "Be Your Mythical Best" shirt was made available on the Mythical Store during the livestream, with proceeds for the organization. Finally, membership fees for the Mythical Society on September 2-3 also went to the organization. The show raised $400,000 from the livestream alone.

Good Mythical Evening[]

Good Mythical Evening is an annual live ticketed event series hosted by Rhett and Link. It features similar content from Good Mythical Morning, but with violence, vulgarity, and other adult content that cannot be shown in a usual GMM episode on YouTube. As such, it is limited to a mature audience unlike their other live experiences. The first show was held on October 28, 2021 via Looped, while a second show was held on September 9, 2022 via Moment House after being postponed from its initial September 1 date due to technical difficulties, in third show titled 'Good Mythical Evening: Pain & Pleasure' was to held on August 24, 2023 via Kiswe.

Good Mythical Weekend[]

Good Mythical Weekend is a series that aired on July 15, 2023. This series consisted of teams of Mythical Crew members competing in challenges every Saturday. This series only continued during Good Mythical Summer 2023 and contained 8 episodes, but they teased more episodes to come.

Good Mythical Weekend is organized into spring break (which they announce on GMM) and summer break (which is GMSummer).

Good Mythical Tour[]

Good Mythical Tour is live show where GMM's set is played performance. In addition, those who purchase VIP Packets receive many special rights to live performances and meet & greets besides Rhett & Link, including Mythical Crew Stevie and Chase and Mythical Kitchen Josh and Emily. which Good Mythical Tour will take place in Summer 2024, with locations in the US including Los Angeles, Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Columbus, Atlanta, Raleigh, Washington and Philadelphia.
